Christmas time is a wonderful time to be serving as missionaries in the Washington DC North Mission. There are many ways to celebrate the birth and life of our Savior. There are many opportunities to invite others to "Come Unto Christ" to be blessed, strengthened, and empowered through the atonement, and to feel His love in a more powerful way.

Our purpose as missionaires is to:
"Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end."
We ponder and try to apply these scriptures:
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." (3 Nephi 5:13)
"O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee in Christ. Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee." (Alma 31:34-35)
"Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever."
"Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God...." (Alma 37:36-37)
We love our Savior, and we are very grateful for this opportunity to serve Him as missionaries. This opportunity has strengthened our love and appreciation for the Lord, for each other, for our family, and for the people we meet and work with. It has helped us recognize and increase our gratitude for many blessings. We are experiencing peace, joy, and happiness. We love the people we meet and work with here. This experience in loving and serving others is a gift from God.
